Need Spark Plug Recommendations
Thursday, November 27, 2008 8:33 PM
Sup everyone im new to the forum and im new to using Nitrous Oxide Sulfur Dioxide.
I need help in choosing the right plug for my 2004 Cavalier Ecotec Auto trans. In the coming months i will be hoping to use a 50 shot of nitrous. It will be a wet kit of course and i need recommendations on Spark Plugs. Ive heard of others using TR6s but im skeptical because of the big length difference of my orignal and the TR6. Ive heard of using plugs from an SRT-4 but ive researced it some and i feel its the same heat range as factory but in copper. This is a longshot but what if i use spark plugs from an 2009 Turbo Cobalt will that work?

My mods so far.
AEM CAI
Copper coil boot springs
Pacesetter Header
Full 2.25 crush bent exhaust
2.25 Magnaflow Cat Conv.
2.50 Thrush glasspack(Resonator)
dual 2.25 Flowmaster 60's

The NGK's should be the same length are stock. Mine were at least. The SRT plugs are 1mm longer I believe. I have read about a lot of people having problems with them. Some have done well however. I know you can't use the Cobalt ss/SC plugs because they seat differently. The ss/TC I am not sure about.

I have the supercharger kit on my 03 cav with NGK plugs. Which are 2 stages colder than stock I believe. Work like a charm.

Maybe check out http://www.j-body.org/ if you are not already on there. This site is kinda dead most of the time.
