ECU Upgrade...?
Saturday, September 01, 2007 3:21 PM
Hello, my name is Josh. I run my own little personal shop here in Albuquerque, NM. My mechanic Matt has a 06 Cavalier and he installed an Ebay Short ram intake. Turned out it rubbed the harness wire and shorted some stuff out. He keeps hounding me to locate him an ECU Upgrade instead of replacing with stock. But as far as I'm concerned, I don't know jack about these Ecotec's. Can someone shed some light on this subject. As far as I have read, the Stock ecu is tunable? no? I really do not know. He will not listen to my advice as to just fix the harness and replace the ECU and whatever else that was suposedly fried.

Tell your friend he doesn't need the headache of a new standalone computer because that's the only "upgradeable ECUs" he can get.

Tell him that HP Tuners (More info on www.hptuners.com) is a PCM Programmer and that it will allow him to change whatever computer parameter his stock computer controls.

Tell him to get a new stock computer and if he wants to tune to get HP Tuners.
