Lowering a Saturn L-100
Monday, November 26, 2007 12:55 PM

I've seen several kits offered for my car that will lower it 2" and 2.5" inches.

What kind of gains can I expect? or would it not be worth the money?

Gains? What exactly do you mean?

Also, unless you have a proper shock absorbing system along with the lowered height, you're going to bottom out and have a awesome driving experience.

gains such as the ablility to "hug the road" better or go around corners faster / aerodynamic advantages

- the kits i have seen only come with springs not shocks.

any advantages/disadvantages to having a lowering kit would be helpful to know or point to me a website or post that already has all of this information

You'll have a lower center gravity and you'll notice it's a bit better in cornering BUT the shock absorbing portion plays a huge part in that as well.

yeah if your shock absorbers are bottoming out youre just gonna lose your traction thru sharper maneuvers!!! and u do not want that at all....if your going to lower it ur also gonna want to look into a kit set of shorter shafted shocks and a good camber kit to adjust your wheel camber angle and save wear on your tires as well as improve traction because you have more tire in constant grip with the road that way
