THE STOCK MAN. TRANS. FOR THE 02-05 ECOTEC IS CONSIDERED AND F23 GETRAG
THE SS MAN. TRANS. IS CONSIDERED AN F-25 GETRAG

AS FOR A GM PART. # I DON'T KNOW

I HAD TO REPLACE MINE AND GOT ONE OUT OF A 05.

Wait a second. I have a 2002 2200 cav with a f23 getrag tranny. are you telling me that i can use the same trans on my eco?

No. I'm in process of doing an ecotec swap. I have learned that even though both the 2200 & ecotec transmissions are getrags, the bolt patterns are not the same, nor is the gear ratio. You will need an ecotec transmission whether it's manual or auto.

I would look for one at salvage yards. You could also try Car-part.com. It's a nation wide salvage part search. Or the dealership which will be highly expensive.

find a newer saab 9-3 in the wrecking yard and fab up some mounts & axles. also a good place to get a oem style turbo manifold. good if you're building a low-buck setup.

* measure first, as far as i know you'd be the first to perform the swap. you didn't say what car the eco is in, and the 9-3 is larger than a few of the cars in which the eco was available.
