Hi,
Yes, the B&M Shifter is a GREAT shifter to have for any 00-04 5 speed Cavalier or Sunfire. IT works wonders. 28% reduction. For the price you can NOT go wrong.

Love my short shifter - only problem I've found is that in the summer in Arizona it gets a bit hot - I now have the B&M logo burned into my palm - haha

I love my B&M, I have mine in my Grand Am. In Canada, it get freakin' cold so I put the stock knob on it, much cleaner look too. All you have to do is start turning it on the shaft and it will self-thread. By the time its almost on, its so tight, you just turn it so that the "standard H" is upright. Very cool shifter.

How do I get in touch with Karo and how much can I get the shifter for??

Karo's site is

Carcustoms.net

Drop'em an Email at sales@carcustoms.net

if you can get rid of the Reverse Lock-out on the B&M shifter, you can swap diffrent shift knobs. I just got a new shift knob on mine.

I didnt know they changed the stereo for 03+
Your out of luck, the drag cars you speak of are front wheel drive. The NHRA drag Cavaliers are v8. Even the Saturn Vue is FR and its an SUV.

You'd be looking at a custom set up.

What modifications (if any) are required to put the shifter in a Grand Am?
Re: B&M short throw

as long as its a 00+ with a Getrag Transmission, it will
swap in the same as it would in a J car.

Personally I don't know much about the interior of a GA,
but I'm sure there are just a few more screws and bolts

once you get the console out, the instructions speak for themselves

just don't break nothing getting it in there

Have any pics of the short throw shifter with the stock knob on it? That seems like the way to go over the B&M metal knob.

Just start turning the your stock knob on your shaft, it will self thread. It won't turn easy, just grab your shaft, twist your knob and you'll be fine.

Let the jokes begin.
El Guapo: what's on your ebrake? anything that was stock in a newer J or is that aftermarket?

thanks

ummm I got the sport package when I ordered my car (1SC package)
It came with a leather-wrapped Steering wheel, Shift Knob, and E-Brake

the only thing still there is the E-brake

besides, our E-brake lever is curved where aftermarket E-brakes are Straight.....

so unless you do some heavy modifications to the stock e-brake,
you can forget about an aftermarket lever.......

bummer
