Ecotec in a sandrail, any hangups?
Monday, August 15, 2005 1:09 AM
I'm planning on putting an ecotec in a sandrail that'll i'll be buying shortly. I'm on a budget, so no turbo yet . Since I'm planning on keeping the engine stock for now, does anyone expect any major hangups that would keep me from using the stock pcm and harness? I don't think evap codes would sideline me, for example, but is there any sort of security system that needs to be bypassed? I'm very familiar with fuel injection in general, but have no experience with an ecotec in particular before now. I could see a potential problem with a vehicle speed sensor, but i also don't think the ecu would do anything dramatic should it detect a fault, unless someone here knows otherwise? Should i focus on getting a manual trans ecu/harness as opposed to an auto? Thanks for any tips and suggestions

Andy
