How strong is the ecotec really? I've been reving my ecotec 2.2 to almost 6,000 everyday for 6 months...How high do you guys rev on a daily bases and is it REALLY hard on the motor to pull hard through 1st, 2nd and 3rd..I know its hard on such things as the motor mounts etc. but what about the ecotec itself??

this is not an answer to your Q but i drive almost the same way you do , really rough , the only thing i know about is that you are going to wear out your motor mounts faster , but how fast i don't know

The ECOTEC engine is a sturdy engine. You can beat on it a bit and it will run just fine...

You have nothing to worry about.

The ECOTEC is a very stout little engine, you have virtually nothing to worry about on a stock or bolt on modified ECO as long as you havent tuned to raise the redline. Its only as you raise rpm's over the 6500-7000 rpm mark , or change to higher lift camshafts that you need to start worrying about valvetrain components, and the balance system.
