I'm not sure honestly...I don't think they'd have to replace the whole engine though.

Post this question on ecotecforum.com and you'll get a better answer.

Super plugs are bull@!#$ snake oil, if you changed your plugs with the head still hot you may have made the threads strip. If not your other idea is correct. Any how stay away from the dealer, Thay sell your cars history to car fax. So when you replace the head on the car and try to trade it people will know

You wont need to replace the engine unless you had a catastrophic failure. Best case scenario is a spark plug thread replacement insert will need to installed(this'll run about $30 in parts and about 2hours labor), worst is youll need a new head(about $1100 for head, $200 for head install kit, and $75 in other parts/fluids and AT LEAST 7.5 hours labor, expect more like 12 though unless your good friends with the service dept.) I wouldnt count on spending less than $2000 if you need a head.

YES you'll be footing the bill for these repairs, you're warranty wont cover it, unless your servicing the Service Manager.

If the spark on #1 Cylinder doesn't come up, then all you need to replace is the CoilPack, and it is very cheap I think about $15, these coilpacks are located behind the engine and are screwed to the engine with two screws.
and also you need a special screw driver to get the screws off, I don't remember what size but it will be T#

I had the same problem with mine and I fixed it for less than $20. if you can locate the screws and know the size then there is no need for a mechanic, you can do it your self.

there is no such thing, replacing a 2007 engine because the #1 cyl is not firing, that's BS.

like the other member said, stay away from dealers.
good luck

Adam is mistaken about the coils on your engine. They are far from $15, they arent bolted to the back of the engine, and they arent prone to failure like the ones I believe he is talking about. The coils on the old 2200 OHV.
