Oshawa, Ontario (Tuesday, August 31, 2004) - General Motors of Canada announced today that pricing for the new 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt will start at an MSRP of $15,495.

The Cobalt includes two models - sedan and coupe - and eight trim levels. The sedan features base, LS, LT and SS trims, while coupes are available in base, LS, SS and SS Supercharged trims. The LS starts at $19,795, the LT Sedan starts at 22,995 and the supercharged SS coupe is priced at $24,995.

Donna Martin, Marketing Manager for Small Cars, said, "The all-new Cobalt is already creating a buzz in the compact car segment. Now, its outstanding value will boost awareness of the Cobalt."

Cobalt continues Chevrolet's refined, expressive design character. The sedan offers a sophisticated appearance coupled with a higher seating position for a more commanding view of the road. Interiors of the Cobalt reflect the same attention to detail as the exterior. The high level of refinement is apparent in the quality of materials, appointments and styling cues used throughout the cabin.

Cobalt offers many unexpected features not typically found in small cars today, including standard 15-inch wheels, CD player, electric power steering and driver information center. Available features include air conditioning, heated leather seats, power sunroof, MP3 playback and OnStar. Several wheel options are offered, including 16-inch, 17-inch, and 18-inch wheels, all with unique designs.

Cobalt offers three Ecotec dual overhead cam four-cylinder engines - a standard 2.2-liter engine in the base, LS, and LT models; a new 2.4-liter engine standard in the SS coupe and sedan; and a 2.0-liter supercharged engine standard in the SS Supercharged coupe.

The rigid body structure enables Cobalt's dynamic driving experience and reinforces its safety. In addition, dual-stage air bags are standard and side head curtain air bags are available.
