Recently purchased a new '06 Pontiac G6 with the Ecotec. This is the first year this engine is being offered in the G6, since the its introduction for the 2005 debut year. Surprisingly quick with 167 horsepower....also quiet. Gas mileage on the highway is not what I expected, since it averages around 25 mpg, which slightly less than my '02 Monte Carlo 3.4L. Is this just a matter of break-in time for the mileage to improve, since I only have 1300 miles on her.
The G6 itself is a wonderful car, with a solid sport ride and comfortable well-equipped interior. Only upgrade was getting rid of the Uniroyal Tiger Paws, and adding the new Goodyear H rated Assurance (Eagle) tires.

did you get the coupe?
these are very nice cars and ride very well.
there is a razzi body kit available for the coupe.
i wish there were more items available for this car
I bought the sedan....coupe hadn't arrived yet. I just added a K&N air fillter.....the rpm averages about 300-400 rpms lower at 80 than before, and power is better....
could be my imagination.....but for a 4-banger.....the engine is smoothe and fast.
