2.2 ECO w/ 55 shot?

Can the stock intake manifold hold up to a 55 shot? Also will i have enough flow rate from my stock 23# injectors and if not can it be adjusted w/ HPTuners? I just want a little advantage from my opponent, especially if theres money on the line.

Regardless of what manifold you use, there is no reason you should worry about the manifold blowing off or anything because fuel puddling is possible to occur depending on the design of the manifold and being that it's only designed to carry air, not fuel.

I know you're probably asking cause you heard of someone blowing their manifold, that was puddling of the fuel and it ignited pre-combustion chamber.

If that's not why you're asking

There is also no reason to worry just because it is plastic. The manifold isn't experiencing any type of abuse because of a nitrous injection.

Yeah thats exactly it. They said it would crack if i sprayed while not at WOT. Which i would never do, cuz its just physics: if theres no air pushin it, it will fall right down and form the ever so dreaded 'puddle'. Do you have any ideas as to what kind of tuning needs to be done to spray? (I dont wanna blow it up!) And also, would open header or exhaust cut out benefit me during spray?

There isn't much tuning needed as long as you buy a wet kit (sprays fuel along with nitrous).

Like said, no matter what material the manifold is, puddling can occur and backfiring can occur. A large enough explosion can cause a aluminum manifold to crack or blow a hole.

The exhaust cut out could help you at wide open throttle during spraying.

you will be more than fine at 55 shot, we have ran 80 shot dry with no air fuel issues, the car can compensate up to 80. but short burns like auto 1st and 2nd gear. we have set to start injection at 2700 to red line on my saturn ions both autos though witch preform better cause never have to let off no2 till end of second, with a 60 shot dry you will run fine, or less, these cars factory pump can ramp very fast!! and i have no issues with the car, now over 60000 and had no2 since 2 weeks i got them. just get a good air fuel gauge and keep eye on ration around 5000 to 5800 for some reason like a dead spot on all the cars i have tested. and if you have manual trans. do your engine favor and use full throttle switch!! or it will go boom!! no matter how fast you shift you fuel cut off is right up there where you will be shifting, and i think you get the idea ( no fuel )!!! BOOM. anyway have fun with it but don't burn before 2700 or longer than 2nd on autos or 3rd on manual, and on manual, don't burn first you will not go!! no2 is great for trq!!, good luck

you do not want to burn till after 2700rpm if you let go the button it will stop injecting. the exhaust must turn down and be safe not just cutting off!
