I am exploring the possibility of building a rod with rear wheel drive mid engine using an ecotec 4 and 5 speed manual trans-axle, getrag or aisin(spelling?). I am trying to find the location of the half shaft centers of rotation with respect to the crank center line and the locations, in XYZ coordinates, of mounting points so I can model the engine and trans-axle in 3D CAD. I have the engine packaging dimensions from GMtunerssource. Is this information available from GM or anywhere else? I have asked my Saturn dealer but the service manager wasn't able to provide the information. Am I going to have to measure the dimensions on a car?.
