4T45E ATF level check plug?
Tuesday, June 05, 2007 11:25 AM
Where they heck are they? The 4T45E in my 2007 Cobalt has a big black rubber plug up top to fill from. I can't seem to locate the hex head plug near the pan?

Thanks

Just in case anyone gives a poop, I found the 4T45E ATF level check bolt. It sticks out towards the front right wheel (pass side). Poke around above the pan flange on the right side of the case and you will find the small bolt.

Correction on the top fill port. It is a black threaded plastic cap, not the rubber plug that I had originally thought. Check the GM pic. GM shows it as a red cap:

Just to make it all a little easier, I mocked up this pic compliments of GM:

That looks more like the drain plug than the level check plug.
