Dosent really matter because i just ordered the SLP and it only comes in 2.5" so i got my cat 2.5 and a Pacesetter header.
I read a big beef about this awhile ago (couldnt find it) and the conclusion was 2.5 is alot better even for N/A setups. Is this not true? did i read that post wrong?
Also, anyone with the pacesetter what size is the flex pipe? is it 2.5 or am i gonna need to expand it?

Might be late now but I believe the pace setter comes as a 2.25 again not 100% on that.
I have the Arospeed 4-2-1 header, similar to RK Sport, 2.5" downpipe after cutting off adapter piece, and full mandrel 2.5" exhaust with highflow Magnaflow cat and straight through muffler. Hauls ass at high rpm(5000+), good gains from 3000-5000, very slight torque loss noticed under 2000 rpm(big whoop)...
People will always argue that 2.5 is too big bla bla bla. Just like 04firetec, I have a 2.5 mendral setup (mine is dual exits) and it flows well and good gains. I believe that 2 1/4 might be better for an N/A setup but having a 2.5 wouldn't hurt either. If you do motorwork, that's even better.

The difference between 2.25 and 2.5 is minimal. The point between making your exhaust bigger or smaller is really just playing with backpressure. When you open it up alot you lose torque but can flow more air and usually gain hp. If you make it slightly larger but not to big you still can keep your torque. If you plan on supercharging use the 2.5 if your doing na id go with 2.25 but the difference is minimal.

if your gonna use nitrous get 2.5 but it wouldnt really matter if u were going na
If you plan on turbo or super charging, get a boost activated cut out. When you get on it and you start building boost, a wastegate actuator opens a cutout on the downpipe and BAM instant 3" exhaust. You keep your stock exhaust so you avoid the annoying noise and vibration of a performance exhaust (its only cool for the first 2 weeks trust me), you don't lose any low end power, and its a lot cheaper.
ATP Cutout
If you're NA, I'd get the 2.25", but I like my power down low.
