Alright so are we gonna get some GM reps in here to give us a little more info on this bad boy or what?
Eco S/C
I'd like some more info....
I've
heard it would be out Jan 04....
This is what I'll be waitin for.....

<- don't work?
still adjusting....

WOW...
I hope you can have an automatic?!
Bob Kern did say it was supposed to be out in September back when I was at Street Dreams 3. Well... it's almost November and we have no supercharger. I guess we get the same ball and chain the Twin Cam guys got.
i heard its around the 1st of the year , i never hear anything around Sept ??
mmm, superchargers... massive Tq = lots of fun
Thats a picture of the 2.0 Ion Redline motor.
It is not a bolt-on aftermarket supercharger kit, aka. the Twin Cam 2.4 GM kit.
sig not found
Alright
How bout this one?
GM is going to run this S/C kit just like the LD9 S/C kit
with Warranty and everything

excuse while i touch myself thinking about that pic...I haven't heard a release date but as soon as I do I will let everyone know.
I ain't callin u a gold digga,but you ain't messin wit a broke cracka
I WANT ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So are they still talking about S/C the Cobalt or are they going to get in and be able to compete with the other guys and go with a turbo model. I would never buy a S/C 4cyl car?
I read on the jbo that the 2.2 eco is gonna get a sc kit from GM. Regardless, at this rate we'll never see one.
If a stock engine is 140 HP, why on earth put down the cash by supercharging it to give it an extra 40 HP? I have pondered a supercharge, but I am going with the flow next spring. Gonna get me some NITROUS! Then I can push out some serious HP!
Winter is Among Us!
Yeah I agree^^^^^ like 40 Hp for a lot of money, im gettin aturbo some day and then some NXpress is going in my trunk, someday.......................
RSM racing offers a SC with 80hp gains...although the price is still high, they'll cover your hotel costs for the 3 nights while they install it. Not to bad considering.
The Gm charger is only 40h.p. b/c it's factory warrantied.Look at the Ld9 guys some are easily pushing 210 wheel horsepower.I am sure just like any supercharger you will be able to change the pulley and up the boost. You have to remember the difference, this is WARRANTIED.
I ain't callin u a gold digga,but you ain't messin wit a broke cracka
gm will never make a supercharger kit for the existing ecos the whole 2.0 motor is a crate engine

1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
never say never
i'm still crossin my fingers...
if enough people get the S/C off the ION's and slap them on our ECOs, GM might get the picture and make a kit?
I dunno but
theres still hope

ok if you guys really want a s/c now then don't wait. There already is one
go to www.rsmracing.com and click on cavalier
it's composed of a vortech s/c and everything else. just ready about it and see what you think
it's pretty expensive though... should have you sittin at about 220-230 hp
hope this helps

I've read more negative than positive comments about their 2.2/2.4/Ecotec SC's regarding fuel delivery and don't think its worth the risk or investment. If they could perfect those as they have their 3400 SC kits, I'd take another look.
2002 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 Mods: Weapon R Hyper Intake - RSM 62MM TB - Cat-back w/ Dynomax Super Turbo - Eibach Pro-Kit - B&M Shifter - Advanti's w/ Michelin XGT 225/45/17 - F/R STB - KYB GR2's - Next Level Sway Bar
Absolutely gorgeous.... but I'm not holding my breath... I think we will quickly see our 2.2 Ecos get passed by on major performance R&D because of our new 2.4 big brothers and 2.0 SC little cousins...
If I lived in Canada, and had 4 grand lyin around, I'd get RSM's S/C
but I've heard too many stories of "bugs" they haven't worked out on
that kit yet....
maybe I'll just wait for the hahn boys to finish up their turbo kit.....

alright I'll just cut/paste the article
New Ecotec 2.2L Supercharger Kit for Cavalier, Sunfire
The GM Performance Parts 2.2L supercharger kit is based on the Eaton M62 helical roots-type supercharger. Early estimates show the supercharger kit will deliver an 11-pound boost resulting in 175 horsepower at 5600 rpm – a 25 percent increase.
The kit will include supercharger assembly, intake manifold, all required gaskets, accessory drive brackets, tensioner, belt and new high-flow injectors. It will also include a throttle body adapter new inlet air duct, new cruise control cable and all of the fasteners required to assemble it to the engine. The kit is planned to be emissions certified and include a calibration to be downloaded by the dealer after installation
The GM Performance Parts 2.2L supercharger kit, expected to be available at the end of this year, will be offered as either a hard parts kit with no calibration or harness, or a platform-based street kit that will have both a calibration and harness. Both will be factory engineered and extensively tested to rigorous GM standards for performance and durability. Because the unit isn’t offered as a factory option, you’ll have to get yours through your local dealership.
