That is a good lookin setup. Got any numbers for it? Should be one of the fastest eco's out there.

That maniflod is nice. Did you make it yourself?

How is tuning with the megasquirt? Looks a little complex.

How did you get the msd to work on the eco. Please share the secret.

Megasquirt was pretty much straight forward..

Msd is tapped into the ICM... 2 triggers 1 'power'

manifold is custom made...

btw the car ran a 13.2 @ 113 mph at the track

I know you say that the megasquirt is strait forward, but just how hard is it. I was going to go with the emanage but everyone keep saying go with the megasquirt so what is you opinion out of curiousity? Also for your msd set up are you still using the factory ICM? Thanks for any help you can give.

Btw car should be out in the next few days so i will be out to regain my #1 spot. J/p. But great times and keep up the good work

megasquirt is better than the e-manage in my opinion.. i use to own an emanage it worked good but its just a piggy back you only have so much control. with the megasquirt i have full control over my injectors, unfortunatly the stock computer is still controlling ignition and may be retarding timeing. I dont have a rev limiter or a govenor with the megasquirt since its regulated by fuel cut... (stock puter isnt controlling fuel)
rev limiter is set at 7,000 via MSD for protection you know. My Digital 7 is on its way though so the stock computer is pretty much just gonna control my guages.

I actually hope you can beat my time, and get your spot back its, not fun if there isnt any competition you know? It sucks that my other thread turned into a 2.4 vs ecotec battle, but i just want some of the other ecos to step up, i know they want to be fast, they know they want to be fast, so they should just try and be fast lol.

For the msd install:
one the bottom of the ICM there is a connector that connects to the 'Ignition housing'?
its just a piece of platic with plugs on both ends almost identical... well i took that and put it on the ICM.

On the ICM there are Four Pins on the bottom Three that are close and one that is far

The Far one is for the Camshaf position just run a cable from there to the #4 spark plug and tie wrap it on the outside of the boot.

Now the Other Three Pins that are right next to each other... the first one is 'trigger 1' the middle is 'ignition', and the last one is 'trigger 2'

with that info you should be set to install it. As for wiring and stuff just follow the 2.4 Diagrams and settings... execpt for the part that you need to connect the igniton and trigger wires.. .for that use my 'guide'

hey thanks i appreciate the info. It seems that everytime that i ask there is never a strait answer. What gauge of wire did you use? 16g? I can some what picture it in my head, but did you actually buy a plug with pig tails that connects to the bottom of it ICM? And on last question. Why do you just run the camshaft position wire and tie is around the sprark plug boot? Does it get its frequency form there or something? Sorry for so many questions but i have been wondering how to do this for some time

As for beating your time. I don't know about this year. Just bought a house so the car is somewhat on the back burner now. But i am still going to try like hell.

no like i said you have to use that connector, Unless you want to spend some extra $$$ on the saturn cam sync thing... you dont need it and its like $40 more.

i used the stock connector stuffed some wires in there maybe like 12 guage wire, doesnt have to be anything think, those are just triggers, they basically tell the MSD when to act. Once the cables were there and i tested that it all works.. i soldered the cables into the plug so they wouldnt come out with vibrations.

alright i understand what you are saying now. So are you running a msd box now or just the coils with the digital 7 on the way. And the reason the i was going to go with the emanange was beacause i would be able to adjust the timing, or aleast from what i understand i will be able too. Man do i hate wiring and electronics. I am more of a fabrication type of person
