sup guy's.. I have a 1998 cavalier with the ohv 2.2 engine, i was wondering if its possible if i could do a 2.2 ecotec swap? or could i just do the z24 swap 2.4dohc?

You would have to swap over your whole electrical system because you have a different computer system than the 2000+ J-bodies. There is a write up on what you would have to do if you want me to point it to you.

A pre-2000 2.4 swap would be easier in your circumstance.

NJHK is correct the Twin Cam 2.4L swap is easier on your car as the ECO would require a change in electrical architecture to the car(though all the parts are readily available) An ECO swap does make more sense though as its a much more moden engine and has vastly larger tuning capabilities at this point.
