TUNING SOFTWARE - Beta testers needed

Ok.. its that time!
For those who have been following it on JBO, you know all about it already. Anybody who hasn't seen this software click the HP Tuners link in my sig. This makes your PCM fully adjustable - better than a stand-alone engine mgmt since it keeps all the GM PCM functionality.
The software functions good already.. beta testing is needed to be sure the 4 bangers have no issues

Here's a few requirements..

Local to chi-town is preferred - but if you consider yourself an extrememly good technician with both tuning and computers let me know anyway

you need a laptop with a serial port - or a PC card serial adapter. USB adapters are too flakey for testing right now

you need to be at a level where you can troubleshoot problems such as no power to the OBDII port, serial port communication problems, etc. Any questions along these lines will be frowned upon unless you've done alot of preliminary troubleshooting

you need to understand all aspects of tuning an engine. You should know what all the sensors do, what changing parameters will affect, etc.

from the horses mouth...

Quote:

I just really need them to be able to diagnose a OBD port without power, or a flakey serial port. We can't be doing the "testing" leg work for them. It's really a straight forward process and there won't be much "testing" to be done.. but I just need some users that are computer literate and understand the operating conditions of an engine.

We can't have testers that are asking us "ok how do I tune it? What should I change? etc. etc."

Remember.. you can damage your engine if you don't know what your doing. This isn't like a Hypertech programmer where you can't adjust stuff. This will basically make your PCM into a stand-alone type system, with all the functionality of a stock PCM.

So.. if your still interested send me an email: robogeek469@hotmail.com
include your name, address, phone, email
Also the year, engine, trans and model of your car
Also give me your JBO (or wherever) username - I'm gonna check to make sure you didn't just ask about the IAT mod, then try to get in on this deal.. lol

Once I get a list together I'll send it to Keith, then its out of my hands. He'll give you any further info you may need.

Good luck!!

If only I got started on this stuff 2 years ago, I'd be all over that. I hope your testing goes well and you're able to fix any bugs you might find. <br>

Did anything ever come of the testing you were doing?
Quite a few people are ready for help with their eco's.
Please let me know if you made any progress.
Thanks

I would like to hear an update on this as well.

Would it be usable on the OBDII-CAN PCM that the Ion has??

I've been looking into the possibility of a Delphi engine management system too.
