2.4 Intake Manifold on a 2002 Gen. 2.2 Ecotec

This is more a curiosity question. Does any one know if this 2.4 Ecotec Intake Manifold ( http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/Cobalt-24-Intake-Kit-W67C144.aspx
) will work on an 2002 generation, 2.2 Ecotec? Or what will need to be done for it to work.

The manifold is the same bolt pattern for your cylinder head but the Cobalts have a Electronic Throttle Body, not mechanical and I'm not 100% on if the throttle body bolt area is the same as yours.

I know a few people on J-body that say that they installed the 2.4 intake manifold, so if they are not lying it means it does all fit together.

This mod is good for high end, but there is a dip in the lows and mids. In other words it shifts your powerband up higher.

But, for the people who have tuned their 2.2 with this manifold, and I speak of the Cobalt 2.2 owners with the Trifecta tune, they say that they have fixed this dead spot. In other words, there are big gains on the high end without dealing with the dead spot.

I believe PJ on the org tried this. He ended up running lean and blowing a ring land. However, he was using hptuners so he might have set it to run a little lean on purpose. I'm not 100% sure on this. If you do get this manifold, you will still need to tune your engine. So will it work, yes. Direct bolt on and off you go, not quite.

just make sure you get the throttle body adapter.

PJ was running lean bc he wasn't tuned at the time.
