ECOTEC HEAD PICS-PORTS-O/S VALVES

Here's some cylinder head pics of my spare ecotec head, after getting the valve seats recut for oversize valves, head resurfaced, and tanked. I took a bunch of pictures of the ports as well, as reference for what they look like before I port the head. Some of the really close ones are a bit blurry, due to my limited digicam, but you'll get the idea.

I like how they did some deshrouding around the larger diameter valve seats...

..with a few valves sitting in place..

..intake port pics, as you can see, they are not bad for stock, just some minor port work should be all that is necessary..

through the injector hole..

exhaust port pics, as you can see, they are ridiculously restrictive..

..not to mentioned those ugly little square egr ports that aren't used, but are going to be a pain to work around, as they will add unwanted turbulence to the exhaust..

as you can see with the exhaust manifold gasket in place, the ports can be made a lot larger on the exhaust side to match the gasket, they are so small, why?

port marked for material removal, pretty blurry, but you can see there's a lot of improvement potential on the exhaust side of the stock ecotec head..

I'll post some more pics when it's done, might not be for a while, though. <br>
