loud tick in valve cover area.

I just picked up a 2.2 ecotec baja bug with a 2005 cavalier motor, the fellow said he had it sitting for a long time and after going to get gas the engine had a load ticking. was fine till that time. the engine run great and starts great. does not seem to be missing but has this load tick from the valve cover area any help appreciated ED

1970 Baha Bug (going for some major suspension changes)

1998.5 Dodge 2500 4x4 Cummins, turbo, trans, injectors, lockers, bigger turbo,edge EZ upgrades for towing 35" BFG's, air dog lift pump etc.

UPDATE the tick is gone added 8 oz. of seafoam to the oil and ran for about 15 min. and hit the throttle a couple of times and the click is completely gone and the motor purrs the seller was being honest to me of the problem and was not a worn motor. ED
