Ok guys im at 46000km on my Eco and ive never change my manual transmission oil. Im ready to change it and want to put in Synthec oil. But is it to late or I can still use some ? I use already Mobil-1 Synthectic oil for my engine. Can I use the same or you guys recommend another brand ?

You put ATF in a manual trans or auto? I know that you need to put a little thicker oil than stock because of a noise from the gears. They put a bullitin out on the problem to use saturn fluid because it is a little thicker but still needs to be replaced every year from what I experenced.

Use Dexron III

good for 50k mi. at least, no matter what kinda transmission in your ecotec.

I never change my ecotecs tranny fluid in the 5-spd. In fact, I have never changed a stick shifts oil. I also dont race so, I really dont need to.

Under normal driving conditions, most any lubrication for a stick shift will last well past the vehicles life.

hey I was wondering about how many quarts does it take to fill the tranny back up after you drain it.

A getrag transmission takes 1.8 quarts to fill. 2 quarts is just fine.

If you have that wierd rattle in transmission, that GM says is ok, you can add an extra quart to supposedly stop the sound.

Owners manual... fluids & capacities.
