A little different than stalling
Thursday, January 08, 2004 12:30 AM
I bought my cav new in june 03, (away for the winter in oct), i have a "the stall" happen to me numerous times but for me more often is i notice it if i am driving at say 3500rpm in 3rd for a period of a time and then i let off say i come to a stop when i go to take off, ill push on the accel pedal and its almost as if i have nothing for half the pedal and then u push down a lil farther and it just goes like a mofo... i dunno what is wrong but it gets really jumpy so i shut the car off and its fine, for a while, when it does it is a pain in the @!#$ to drive. what could it be? TPS?? also i am not impressed with the cruise ctrl at all. I had to get mine put on at GM but GM doesn't do it (in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada anyways) they get Atlantic Car Audio to come in and do it, its an aftermarket cruise that is put on and it is junk i have had my car in at least 4 times. say ur cruz is set and u put the clutch in to shut it off it will free rev anywhers from 4500 - 6500 before cruise kicks out, it is very jumpy its not like the old school cruises at all with the vaccum... this is just an electric motor based cruise... not happy at all on the good side i get to try out a lot of demos other than the cav, i am hopen for a chevy silverado ss or a SSR next time lol

Aftermarket cruise control is always garbage. Only factory systems are tied into the clutch. Your cruise is slamming the Rev limiter. That's not good. Disable it with your controls instead. For the accelleration issues, take it to the dealer. Free warranty work. This is something that they should resolve.
