Yeah, definetly. Gotta watch the RPM matching. Not just where the current gear's power ends, but also where the next gear picks up, and how long to shift and fall off. Yup, you got it absolutley right. <br>

This is all practice for the real deal, I guess I just gotta see.
I usually try to launch at around 2500, otherwise I spin, and wheel hop at the 1-2.
Can't really do much now in the winter, but I'm kinda curious as to how others do it B4 track time...

Good example each gear is different and react to higher rpms differently. The eco loses alot of power after it hits peak power. I hit redline in first and second and @!#$ but in third our gear ratio is alot lower than alot of imports. For instance civic si 2000 has such a long third gear. I think it really depends on your mods and how your motor is tuned.

no you dont. The limiter is at 6400Rpm. I let the auto shift 1-2 at 6200, shift into third at 6000. Works fine for me.

I have an automatic and in an instance where I am going full bore with the pedal at full throttle it shifts itself at 6500 all 3 times.

The rev limiter according to the GM service manual kicks in at 6,500 RPM.
