the libs learned that the Second Amendment protects Guns, not ammo.

Bad times ahead for people that exercise there rights.

Dude.... seriously.... if you can get your hands on some claymores.... you need to hook me up..

I think I have somewhere between 2 to 3 hundred .22LR rounds and only a few boxes of 9MM rounds... I keep forgetting to go buy more 9 mil rounds. To be honest.... I'de like to have AT LEAST a thousand rounds for every gun I own.

I really want to get some more guns, But my cars need fixed so that will have to wait...

My list of guns I want to buy..... I already have a .22LR single action revolver and semi auto rifle, and a S&W 9MM pistol.

.50 cal Desert Eagle
12 gauge shotgun (semi auto or pump preferably a SPAS 12 ftw)
.308 Bolt action Rifle with a powerful Scope
Either an AR15 or AK47 (preferably both)
.38 derringer (over under double barrel)
Full Size Colt 45
44 magnum

Now imagine having all those guns and at least a thousand rounds of applicable ammo per gun..... that may seem crazy to some people... but to gun lovers.... it's just an everyday hobby...

And to me.... it would just be freaking sweet.

ScottaWhite wrote:Well, Tinkles, then you're not just getting much of anything. I don't want the private gunstore guy to cater to ME. That implies that I think he should just cut me a deal, but be unfair to everyone else.

If O.B.ama decided to explore the idea of taxing the snot out of future turbo charger production, and hotrodders, performance shops started hoarding them to where you couldn't hardly find them anymore, and when you did, the price was way up....same concpet. Casual car guys would be pissed off.

I realize this is an analogy + may be difficult for you to grasp, so if it is, that's ok.

Eventually, the hysteria will fade, but for now, I hope none of these buffoons houses catch fire.
.

Ah going with the "this simple comparison about something you say you know about is too complex for your little brain to grasp" angle. Too bad you screwed it up. Comparing turbochargers(its one word, not two) to ammo is not going to work. Because believe it or not car and truck manufactures buy the majority of turbochargers, not performance shops. Where as the majority of ammo is sold to the consumer. Not to mention the price per unit of turbochargers is alot higher than ammo and the quantity sold is alot lower than ammo. So try again. Maybe oil filters or those big gay wings all the ricers like.

ScottaWhite wrote:OMG... peopel are not buffoons for buying extra ammo. Not even for stocking up. I'm talking about stockpiling and hoarding in case the A-Rabs come marching down the street, or in case the government tries some Ruby Ridge BS on my property...tell you what.

Been reading more in gun mags, and found an article that stated one manufacturer is limited deliveries for various reasons...among them hoarding.

Some ammo tax bill was killed in CA recently, which would have taxed EACH ROUND by ten cents.....even rimfires. Gun lobby helped kill it, but yes there is always the threat of sin-taxing bullets.

All bullet manufacturers are reporting a 100+% spike in bullet sales/ orders since the "historic" November election. With a one party, notoriously anti gun speaker and mealy mouthed, two-talking president...more of that crap could be on the way.

I get the hysteria....it just pisses me off though.

.

Huh? You're talking about stocking up, but you're not talking about stocking up? Make up your mind.

You also read in a magazine that "blah blah blah". lol. Do you believe everything that is printed? Be careful "bat-boy" is out to get you.

In your rabid state to try to quote me to death, you still are missing the point. Stocking up- Having extra ammo around so I don't have to buy some for a while + having it on hand when I need it. VS Hoarding- Traveling from store to store, buying everything they can get their hands on. Survivalists and conspiracy types.

5,000 rounds is a lot of 9mm is a lot of ammo, but who cares. Some dude, who's buying it by the case week after week, bringing his wife in, in order to be able to buy more.... its legal, but c'mon.

I guess for your mind to grasp the analogy, it would have to be comparing bullets to bullets, cuz bullets and tur bo, chargers aren't the same thing.

I work at a gun shop while im going to school and i sell guns and ammunition.

We havent been able to get a box of .380 for two months. 45 we haven't had for 3 weeks, 9mm we got 2 cases in on saturday and sold all of them in a bout 45 minutes. We got two cases of 22 bricks and they were also gone in around an hour.

There are some people hoarding ammunition, and then another group just buying there usual, but its also hard as @!#$ to get ammunition in period.

We also recently got a e-mail from our distributor letting us know that they have to give first orders to police/government agencies before they can supply retailers as well because of the shortage, they told us not to order any they will just send us what they can lol.

Salespeople at both places said people are hoarding it for fear that our new Dear Leader, O.B.ama is going to tax it to death or ban it outright or some load of crap. Honestly, I'm rather surprised to see YOU making this post. I agree and all(these conspiracy types are to be ridiculed IMO), I just figured you to be one of them. I was wrong about you, in that sense.

There is nothing wrong with guns, or stocking up some ammo, but some of these people are taking it to ridiculous lengths and for ridiculous reasons. Cuz Ubomber's guna take away yer guns!! Its Y2K all over again.

People's guns aren't going away, they couldn't do it if they wanted too. I'm quite pro- 2A, in fact I'm just plain pro-rights. This thing is just pure paranoia. IMO, the NRA is alot like PETA. At the core, both are founded on good causes... which have been taken to bat@!#$-crazy levels by the loonies who hijacked their perspective organizations. Ditto with the ACLU.

Okay good, I was worried for a moment. Haha

And do any of you really *need* a gun at all? What are you, preparing for an alien invasion? My dad let me shoot one of his guns when I was younger and I never understood why he had one at all. Then I learned that he had to shoot my puppy in the head for pooping on the carpet.

I have plenty of guns and greatly enjoy them. A great way to relax is to go to the range and do some target practice. Also, mine are built for hunting use with the exception of the handgun.

Just because you dad did an @!#$ thing does not mean that all gun owners are the same way. I love animals and I love to hunt. I will not shoot an animal for pooping on the carpet.

I have been to countries with very strict gun control laws and I have to say that I am less than impressed with the outcome of what happens. As expected the only citizens that followed the laws were the ones that were not already criminals. You cant legislate crime away if you do not properly enforce the existing laws. This country has been so neutered that many people are now afraid of guns. A gun is just a tool. Just like a pen, if used wrong it can kill someone. If handled correct and used in a legal manner it is completely harmless to people, unless you enter my home illegally. When I went to Australia I had to change planes in LA. I had to pick up my luggage from one baggage claim and go to another check in. I had a security escort to the front of every check in line I had to go through. People in the airport were actually stepping back from me as if they were afraid I was going to somehow open the case, open my luggage, get the rifle loaded and start shooting up the place. The first time I went to Scotland security had me open the case in plain site of everyone in the airport and hand them the rifle. Nobody gave a @!#$ that time. Oh how things change over a short time (Scotland was 2000 and Australia was 2006).

Think of it as a hobby. None of us NEED to modify our cavaliers, but we enjoy it. Just because some douche-hats race around and kill people is that a reason to not have a car? No sir.

Anything can be made safe or dangerous in the right or wrong hands. And trying to ban something only creates a violent, criminal underground for those that choose not to obey the law.

And I'm really sorry about your puppy. No animal deserves that treatment.

Does anyone "need" to take away other people's rights? I don't think people need guns - in fact I think guns are for pussies, but... I fully support their rights to have them. The 2nd amendment isn't there for hunting(you're talking about a time that people hunted to eat or go hungry). That amendment is there so that people will have a gun in case they need to KILL OTHER PEOPLE - including (if not especially) the government if need be. Now I also think people are WAY TOO PARANOID about how the guns are gonna be illegal tomorrow as well.

I don't think that anyone besides a soldier - in today's modern age - "needs" a gun for anything. But so what?! They can have one anyways. Need has nothing to do with it. I mean, do we really "need" freedom of speech, etc, etc? I think I made my point.

"Now I also think people are WAY TOO PARANOID about how the guns are gonna be illegal tomorrow as well. "

The anti gun people are way to paranoid thinking that every gun out there is waiting for the right opportunity to kill someone. Some of the @!#$ I have heard from them would make some people believe that firearms can actualy act on their own. A firearm is just a tool, it can not do anything unless someone picks it up and uses it or is a complete dip@!#$ and is neglects it to a point that the it should no longer be in service. A loaded gun is completely safe as long as ALL safety precautions are followed. Of course the people committing crimes with firearms dont give a @!#$ about any of that anyways.

I keep a loaded gun nearby when I am at home. I live 5 miles outside of detroit and crime in my neighborhood has gone up significantly in the past 5 years. If someone breaks in and threatens my family I will be able to do something about it. They will be greeted by either a 20 ga. or a .45 ACP.
