Cavi-Cobalt engine swap

Hey, guys im new to the J-body experience. I just wanted to know if it is theoretically possible to drop the supercharged powerplant from the Cobalt SS into a 2004 Cavalier. Again I just want to know if it is possible, because if it can be done, I'll find a way to do it. Thanks

nevermind, i was just looking through the performance forum and sumune already asked that question. I just heard about the GM stage upgrades on the SS/SC motor, will they work on a supercharged 2.2 in an 04 Cavalier?

Physically, yes.

But I personally wouldn't rely on the supercharger reflash alone to go with these changes.

I thought that the upgrades consisted of smaller pulleys and not a reflash. I could be wrong but i thought that was it.

All stages require a reflash for the LSJs.

Aftercooler setup, colder plugs (NGK) and maybe even a dual bypass.

There is more info and more people who have done this on ecotecforum.com if you want to talk or ask there.
